Hermosa Pier Family Session

Happy Friday friends!  We are back at Hermosa Beach Pier shooting pics of lovely families.  I have to say, there is something so magical about shooting during the golden hour.  For those of you who are not familiar, the golden hour is either the first hour after sunrise or the last hour before sunset.  The time of day produces a soft and warm light that is extremely flattering for portraits.

Palos Verdes Family Session

I snuck away from the beach this time to shoot the cutest couple with their fur babies at the Wayfarers Chapel. I also discovered that shooting animals is much like shooting toddlers, lol. Unfortunately there were weddings going on during our session preventing us from getting interior images of the architecture designed by Lloyd Wright. And yes, you guessed it right, the architect is the son of the famous Frank Lloyd Wright. This adorable couple are high school sweethearts and newlyweds. What a joy it was to capture just how smitten they are with each other. Here are a few of my favorites!

Hermosa Pier Family Photo Session

Hello friends! I am back and going to share with you my photo sessions from the end of last year.

Ahh…..I’ve known this family for a long time. Our children went to school together, lots of wonderful memories. It’s been a little bit of time since I’ve seen the kids and my oh my have they grown! I always say that I do not feel old but looking back at pictures and watching children grow makes me feel old! My family has spent quite a bit of time around this family in the past so it was such a pleasure to be able to shoot them. I am absolutely in love with shooting during the golden hour so stay tuned for more images during this time. Here are a few of my favorite photos!

Hello Friends!

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Jen, and I am a photographer.

There I said it, I gave myself the title. Sometimes it feels strange to give yourself a title until you feel as if you earned it. It reminds me of the first time I got fitted for running shoes in 2010 at Fleet Feet Sports in a Chicago. I distinctly recall sitting down saying, “I’m not a runner” to the associate. At that point I had casually started running about a year ago and ran a few 5K’s. I was training for my first half marathon and felt that I could only call myself a runner once I’ve run my half and earned the title.
